At MadMonkeyz, the recommended youngest age for kids is 5 years and above. However, kids as young as 4 has climbed at the gym. We highly recommend young children to participate and take up the sport of climbing. Young children are impressionable and therefore, what they experience when they are young will develop their behaviour & traits when they are older. The dynamic nature of  sport climbing develops & nurture many
positive traits in a child.

  • Developing physical & mental strength, coordination & health. The nature of the sport encourages movement in an environment where
    balancing is crucial. Climbing will help in the positive development of balance, flexibility, agility & good posture of kids. As they are growing, climbing will ensure that they have strong joint and muscular power, which will encourage healthy growth.
  • Developing courage & confidence in a child. This sport is unique by itself and children who dabble in something different will often develop confidence in the long run. Being unique allows them to become more individualistic by knowing that they have a choice in developing their
    own unique identity when they grow up.
  • Climbing also teaches a child the skill of problem solving. As all climbing routes are basically a problem to be solved. Starting kids young will
    allow them to learn and master the basics of solving problems and taking on challanges with courage. Something that will serve them well
